What is Flo Coat? I read it is something you add to chocolate coating when using Americolors. I haven't used them, but am anxious to try them! I use Wilton most of the time!! So you dont need special candy colors if you use this product w/ the colors??????

Flo-coat is a food coloring agent that allows you to use any of AmeriColor's Soft Gel Paste to color white chocolate and compound coatings. The usage ratio is 5 parts of Flo-Coat to 1 part of Soft Gel Paste. To color compound coating: melt 1 lb. compound coating, add 1 ½ tablespoons Flo-Coat then 1 teaspoon Soft Gel Paste onto the Flo-Coat, mix thoroughly. The Flo-Coat will smoothly and evenly disperse the Soft Gel Paste into the coating, resulting in a smooth and pourable consistency. As you proceed with your work and find that your coating is beginning to set up, add more Flo-Coat to keep it liquefied. Flo-Coat will not harm your coating regardless of the quantity used to maintain your desired consistency. Flo-Coat will enable you to realize the maximum yield from your batch of coating resulting in a savings by eliminating lost batches. Flo-Coat provides a firm texture, beautiful shine, and greatly improves mold release. Flo-Coat is a wonderful candy making aid that allows you to use any of the 40 Soft Gel Paste colors to achieve your most demanding compound coating coloring needs, while making your task a great deal easier.

Flo-Coat is a wonderful candy-making tool. It is exclusive to AmeriColor and was formulated to work with AmeriColor Soft Gel Paste. You use it to color White Chocolate and Compound (summer) Coatings. With Flo-Coat you can use any of AmeriColors 41 Colors. Turns water based colors into Oil Candy Color.
Works with the same principal as Paramount Crystals but much more effective and easier to use.
Start with small batches to begin so you will fully understand the properties and function of Flo-Coat. Melt a few wafers in a small bowl and stir. Drop a few drops of color directly on top of the melted chocolate, immediately drop 3 to 5 drops of Flo-Coat for every drop of color on top of the color that is resting on top of your melted chocolate. Stir and blend the color into the chocolate. If your batch starts to harden or "Seize" simply add more Flo-coat to keep it pourable. Scoop and pour into your mold, tap gently to remove any air bubbles until the surface is smooth. Set aside or put in the freezer to allow the chocolate to set. Your finished product will easily slip from it's mold and have a beautiful shine
When mixing larger batches you may want to mix the Flo-coat and Color before hand and then mix directly into your compound. Its very simple but takes practice to master. Remember you can add more Flo-Coat at any time during the process if you candy starts to harden with out damaging the chocolate (No more wasted batches)
Tip: if you use compounds with Titanium Dioxide in the ingredients this whitening mineral will mute the color.
We also manufacture Oil Candy Color in Black, Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Pink, Red, Violet, and Navy Blue. Again like our all our products our color strength and formulations superior. Our Formulation will evenly color your candy and will not leave spots or flakes.
