Quick question. Do you have to refridgerate Karo brand of Light Corn Syrup? I have some in the closet - dh told me I didn't need to put it in the fridge. But, when we were at his moms house, she had it in the fridge. So, is mine still good or should I get a new one?
Thanks!

Unopened I keep it in a cabinet, but if you don't use it for a very long time it begins to change color and darken. I do keep mine in the refrigerator but it is more because I am afraid of attracting ants in the cabinet.

No. It does not have to be refrigerated at all. I have kept opened bottles of light and dark Karo in my pantry for as much as one year and they were the same as when I first opened them. icon_smile.gif

Ditto...I've never heard of the need to refrigerate corn syrup. Can you imagine trying to get that stuff out of the bottle once it gets cold? icon_biggrin.gif

It does thicken in the fridge but not so much that it isn't pourable. If you are in a hurry you can zap the plastic bottle in the microwave for a few seconds to loosen up the syrup.
