Hi! Welcome to CC! I would do a search in the gallery. I saw some tacos, nachos, and fiesta cakes there. Really awesome stuff. Hope this helps!

Have you seen the Tequila bottle Duff did on Ace of Cakes? Really cute... basically a Tequila bottle passed out on a bed.

You could also a graduation cap in the shape of a sunbrerro (sp?) or sunbrerro colors on a graduation cap. That might be really cute. And marraccas with diploma handles. icon_smile.gif

That sounds like fun! I like meihana's ideas- incorporating the grad cap with either "fiesta colors" or resting on a fiesta colored cake.

Or maybe a 3-D pinata cake- (sounds hard but in my head it looks good!) icon_smile.gif

cute ideas EVERYONE !! I have and have had many really cute 'ideas' in my head but then application of that idea to a cake seems to fade somewhere during the transition. I have ( with the GREAT help of my Tom and his graphic art talents) printed a pic on rice paper of a grad carrying her diploma. Removing the mortar board and replacing it with a sombrero. Changed the hair color to Holly's. REALLY REALLY cute!! So with his help,,, a great beginning. Its really making me nervous, as I've not done decorating for SOME time and now getting back into it after several (hmmm probably 20 or so!!) years.

I really do appreciate all the imput and GREAT ideas.
Thanks again!!
Kris

Thanks all for your ideas.... The cake was a hit. Holly loved it, especially the bobble head graduate girl which I cut off her mortar board and put a sombrero on her head in place.. Another niece wants one just like it for her High School Graduation party. I also made a little more formal book cake with a mortar board and diploma on it. That idea was from one that I saw on this site, so you can call me a copy-cat on that one !!

THanks again !!
