Royal Icing And Sticking To Paper
Baking By lapazlady Updated 30 Nov 2005 , 4:53am by SquirrellyCakes

Help, please,
I want to "draw" an embroidery design to place on a cake. I need to draw the design first, on what? I need to be able to lift the finished drawing off the paper to place it on the cake. I was wondering if parchment paper would be better than wax paper. Or, any other suggestions for paper.
Thank you, LaPazLady

I found that waxpaper will stick to some things, but have yet found that parchment paper sticks to anything! I love parchment!

I actually use butchers wrap which is a clear plastic sheet. I've never known any type of icing stick to it

ChrisJ, no parchment paper for baking should stick as it is treated with silicone to stop sticking. I buy in bulk at Costco, three rolls in a package and have never had a problem with it.
Was there a specific brand you had an issue with?
