When I make Tiramisu cake I do a chiffon cake and fill and frost with the tiramisu custard. basically instead of using lady fingers and layering those I use the cake. If you would like the recipe for the tiramisu and cake recipe I use PM me your e-mail and I will send it to you.

HTH

THANKS, I THINK I READ THOSE THREADS LAST NIGHT AND ALSO SAW THE RECIPE LISTED. THIS IS A SHORT NOTICE CAKE BUT FOR A GOOD FRIEND'S BRIDAL SHOWER WHO LOVES LOVES LOVES TIRAMISU. (SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS ON-TOO TIRED TO RETYPE) I HAVE A 2 TIER STACKED DESIGN PICKED OUT AND WOULD LIKE TO USE FONDANT. I DONT THINK I CAN COVER A CHIFFON CAKE, ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS? WHITE CAKE? I ALSO DONT HAVE EASY ACCESS TO A LIQUOR STORE FOR KALUA OR BRANDY. (50 MILES AWAY) SO I DONT HAVE ANY ALCOHOL THAT WOULD WORK...PLUS I'D HAVE TO USE CREAM CHEESE INSTEAD OF MARSCAPONE BECAUSE I CANT FIND THAT EITHER. SHOULD I JUST CHOOSE A DIFF. FLAVOR?

i hate bad imitations of tiramisu, because its such a good thing that ruining it is just blasphemis (hee hee) so would this wreck it?
( because i want to use fondant)
white cake, brushed with espresso simple syrup, filling (cream cheese, heavy cream, egg yolks, sugar) sprinkled with cocoa powder, REPEAT (torted 4 layers of cake, 3 layers filling) ...espresso buttercream and chocolate fondant?
