Theme of the month FAQs. (Details are subject to change as we find certain things that work better!! Check back often!)

What does TOTM mean? Thats the abbreviation for Theme Of The Month!

What is TOTM? Every month we choose a theme, start a thread, and CCers post in the thread showing their creation that fits the theme.

Who can participate? Everyone is invited to participate! We hope to see new people posting, as well as our long time favorites! There are no requirements for joining in simply post your theme related creation!

Does it have to be a cake? NO!! We accept any edible medium. Cake, cookies, candy, fudge, modeling chocolate, ANYTHING as long as it can be eaten. (Example: No playdough, sorry!)

Does somebody win, and what is the prize? No, this is not a competition, this is just for fun, and to share ideas and inspiration! Although, if you post something youll get lots of adoration, and lets be honest, that is like a prize!!

How do we choose the months theme? Around the 15th of the month I start a thread asking for suggestions. During the last (approximately) 5 days of the month I will create a poll with the most popular suggestions. On the first day of the following month I will post a new thread with the most popular theme. (All dates are approximate, allowing for real life to intervene!!)

How can I find the current or past threads? There are several options. You can search for TOTM and it should lead you to the threads. You can also go into the General forum and scroll down to find it. Also, each time a new thread is created, I will link to it from the previous thread so it is easier to find. For example, in the current month thread, I will post a link to the new suggestions thread. In that thread I will link to the poll. In that thread I will link to the new months theme thread and so on! That way you can follow along as we go! Hopefully it will be easier to find that way. I will also link to this post in the opening post of each concurrent thread so you can find your answers easily!

When can I post my theme creation? Starting the first day the thread exists you are welcome to jump in and post your picture or link. Wed like to see your work by the end of that month, but if you jump in and add something after the month is over, thats ok!

Does it have to be brand new work? Not exactly. Although wed like to inspire you to create something new, wed also like the chance to see work weve perhaps missed in your gallery. If you already have something that fits the theme and want to show it, you are welcome to do so! Of course, you could make something new too!!

Can I post my work in my gallery too? Of COURSE! We know how exciting it is to post in your gallery and get comments! Go ahead and post it there too! And, if you already have it posted in your gallery, just can choose to just link to it, or re-post it in the thread.

Should I post a picture or just a link? Its totally up to you! Pictures are nice because they are less work for viewers, but if you have already posted it in your gallery, or on your own website, and want to save space, you can choose to just use a link. Both are perfectly acceptable!

How do I make a suggestion for a theme? Anyone can suggest a theme! In the appropriate thread please include your idea surrounded by asterisks so that it is clear what you are suggesting. Ex: ****Footwear**** If you are making other comments in the thread, this will separate your suggestion so that it is not overlooked. Also, when you are agreeing with another suggestion, please also surround it with the asterisks!

What if my theme isnt chosen? Please dont be angry, there are so many good ideas. Keep suggesting it, and perhaps another month it WILL be chosen! We are simply going with most popular opinion. If you made a suggestion and feel it was popular but didnt make it into the poll, please PM me and draw my attention to it right away so I can revise the poll. You have to allow for human error, and boy, can I make them!!

what a great and helpful idea. I might suggest putting the Theme in the subject line "TOTM - smoothing buttercream" for easier identifying. Is that possible?
