I know some of you use a simple syrup recipe to brush on your cakes to make them more moist. I was wondering if you could share which recipe you use. TIA

1 cup water plus 1 1/2 c. sugar boil together for 5 minutes. Add flavor of your choice. ( I like to cook a vanilla bean in mine)

I use a one to one ratio
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
Stir and boil until the sugar has dissolved
take off heat and add a few drops of your favorite extract
orange
lemon
rum
coconut
vanilla are all good, or you can add a favorite liquere
One of my most requested I add 1 heaping teaspoon instant coffee granules to the sugar and water while it is cooking, take off the heat and add 1 Tablespoon Kahlua.

I cut the tops off all of my cakes to level and I brush the syrup on with a pastry brush, just enough to moisten, not soaking. Others put it in a new plastic spray bottle and just spritz the cake layers.

Equal parts (by weight) of water and granulated sugar. Heat in a pan until boiling and sugar is completely dissolved. Cool to room temp. Store in fridge.
