i need to make a blue suede fondant suitcase, how would i get the fondant to have a suede look to it? and be blue, its for an elvis cake. I think Norm Davis does something with chocolate to get that texture, anyone know of any way to do this? Thanks!!!

I have used a texture mat before, and you lay the mat on top of your rolled out fondant, then use the rolling pin to roll it a bit more. Can you find something with a texture you like then do the same thing? Maybe some fabric, or textured plastic like the cake-wrap kind? I've no idea if it would be successful, just thinking out loud!

Maybe a piece of velour?

Just brainstorming here, but what if you took a small foam paint roller and rolled buttercream or melted chocolate over the fondant, that might give a suede texture.
