Need Help!!! Iced Cookies Become Soft/damp

Hello Everyone,
I am very frustrated in my wedding cookie toppers...
Yesterady before, I baked sugar cookies, nice and crispy. Cooled completely.
Last night I started decorating them with royal icing, leaving them to dry overnight...
And then....all my cookies become soft/damp because of the humidity......
I've this problems before, also because of humidity.
I couldnt put them to the oven again since they are with the icing...
I tried to keep them in the refrigertor, to dry to make them dry and crispy (because I did the same for my potato chips....chips will get crispy again if I put them in the refrigerator)
But this didnt work out for my cookies....they were still soft....mouthfeel was bad....
Is there a way to save my cookies??
Anyone can help??

ASorry, I don't think there is a way to fix them unless you have a food dehydrator or maybe can put them in a room with a dehumidifier. Now that they've drawn up so much moisture from the air, I don't think they will taste fresh though even if you can dry them out. Sorry this happened! It has happened to me too. Cookies just totally fell apart, crumbled in my fingers when I tried to pick them up.
It may be the temperature in your house? I'm not really sure since this never happened to me. Did you keep the cookies in an airtight box? I usually leave mine out in the open to dry and they're always fine. I also have a dehumidifier in my house, but my cookies still turned out fine before I got one.

Should be both humidity and temperature I guess...
