Flavor Varieties Wasc Cupcake Ideas
Baking By MissJoyous Updated 21 Oct 2013 , 11:23pm by MissJoyous
HELLO! I'm finally a 'member' after spending months & months reading & researching here. You all offer some wonderful tips & ideas. Thank you!
So ~ what I'm trying to figure out is if it is standard to turn a standard white cake (I've been using a WASC recipe) into many other flavors. For instance ~ by using a different flavor box cake and by equally swapping out the water in the regular recipe for something like eggnog or apple cider. I am looking to make some holiday flavorful cupcakes & I find it easiest for me to start with a box mix, because I haven't mastered a scratch yet ~ so I am hoping to find ideas for making pumpkin... white & also dark chocolate peppermint, eggnog & caramel apple cider.
All of you have some wonderful ideas & I wish sometimes we were all baking together! I appreciate any helpful hints & tips as I take my ideas to the next level.
Thank you!
yes you can do lotsa flavors with wasc-
but for choco and pumpkin--i mean just a random thought here--you can literally use a can of pureed pumpkin (not pie filling) and a box of choco cake mix and get a diet friendly very tasty brownie-ish muffin--(idea from Hungry Girl)--ridiculously delicious and if you add raisins.choc chips--wow
you are sounding like you might like bundt type cakes? they are very forgiving and i'm positive if you keep researching recipes online you can find some doozies--doozies in a good way
if you are liking layer type cakes--i'd recommend the wasc base in whatever flavors and use fillings to go the extra miles of caramel and apple and even peppermint
there's a gigantic thread on here with different flavors that you will go nuts about--someone smart will post a link for you--or i will if i can find it
absolute best baking to you always!
