OMG. That cake is so gross but so cool. It looks like the folds are just extra fondant. The artist basically just rolled extra for those parts and draped it there. As far as the bruising goes, they probably airbrushed those parts. You could achieve that look as well by dry brushing with some petal dusts. Not luster dust! You don't want the bruises to have a shimmer. You want the flat look of a petal dust. You should probably get some dark blue, purple and black. Maybe even a little red to make it look more realistic. Good luck!

Ironically bruises are called 'shiners' where I come from in the UK icon_wink.gif

That cake is so creepy.

A black eye is called a shiner in the US.

That cake is gross I love it. You could haphazardly arrange two bolts with blood on the end on the top too. Cool. I'd also be inclined to texture the fondant so it has skin swirls on it!

And I'd texture the edges with the stitches with the leather or hide as this is where the skin would dry out. Oh my god I want to make this cake!!!!

HAHA! Great ideas about texturing with leather.

I would guess the stitches were made with some royal icing.

Frog22 did you ever make this cake? I'm very curious to see your version!
