AI am making a beer bucket cake, and was hoping to find a coconut cake that is made from scratch that is dense enough to be stacked and tapered. Any recipes or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Most of the recipes I have found are very light and airy :(

A@whiteangel

I ended up going with http://atendercrumb.com/2009/02/southern-coconut-cake-the-cake-slice/ for the coconut cake, and it produced a tight crumb cake that was fairly dense considering it was all egg whites. I just altered it a bit by replacing the vanilla extract with coconut extract. I also altered the 1 cup of coconut milk to 3/4 coconut milk and 1/4 cup coconut cream. Everyone loved it. So I am thrilled and it held up to carving beautifully.

Wow, what a load of work! How much do they charge by the slice? Do you know what it wound up costing you (approximately)? How big are the slices? Sorry for all the questions, but it looks amazing, and like it would take forever, so I'm wondering what kind of profit is in them!

AOmg! From the website! As a consumer I am shocked, as a baker, it is well worth it!

Coconut lovers beware as it is truly addictive. Price: $100.00 plus shipping (Usually $60-$100) Only actual shipping costs will be charged.
