New Game!-Guess The Number Of Pearls!

I have had a bride ask me to recreate this cake with a few tweaks- 4 tier instead of 3- 12,10,8,6 round. No topper. The middle tier of the picture will be the same as the other 2.
How many fondant pearls do you think it will take? I will let you know when I finish the cake-it is due on the 20th!

I'm at work now so I can't open the pic, but I've bookmarked it for when I get home so I can guess!
I am way beyond 850! I have made about 25-35 larger pearls, around 200 of the medium sized and 500 each of 3 colors of small! I am figuring 1 big pearl, 3 med pearls and 4 small pearls per sq in- so the inch around of the cake + about 2.5-3" high= x amount of pearls.
I will let you know the final tally when it is done!
And making the pearls is taking forever!!!! I undercharged this cake (it was ordered when I first started taking wedding cakes), but maybe on the upside it will get me into this venue that has an exclusive caterer!
Can I ask if the fondant pearls get applied to buttercream or to more fondant? Just curious. I'm not a fan of fondant covered cakes, but that cake is BEAUTIFUL! Are you rolling the pearls by hand, or using a mold?

The original is a buttercream cake with fondant pearls. I will be using SMBC, so I plan on just smushing them on there! Of course, since all the pearls go from the bottom up, this means that the cake will be assembled before hand! Oh, the joys of moving a 4 tier cake down to the bottom of a steep, bumpy hill!
I hope you post a picture of your cake when it's all done! My comment to how many....too many to want to do by myself...lol
