Cakes For People Who Dont Like Icing!!

Okay im at a bit of a loss here...Ive been ask to make a cake for a dear family friend..but he doesnt like icing. Not even a thin layer he just knocks it off. I know pound cake is an option...any other ideas?? I mean ive never had a request like this before!
I offered the ganache option...that was shut down. The powdered sugar suggestion sounds good Jess155...what kind of bundt cake would you recommend? Any good recipes?
My father was never big on frosting, even before he was diagnosed with mild type 2 diabetes. Now, he's even less into frosting.
His birthday cake, therefore, is a pound cake, baked in a Bundt mold, and served naked.
The only other kind of cake I can think of that's routinely served naked would be angel food.
Or what about maybe a jelly roll? I believe those are regularly served naked.
Pound cake was one option but i Do that for them all the time...never done a jelly roll. I settled on a cinnamon coffee cake..he really likes cinnamon so this might to. It has a nice crumb on top. thanks for all the help!!!!
ADoes he also dislike a whipped frosting? I dont really care for sweet frostings either but I like Pastry Pride because it is not too sweet.
Maybe a sponge with lemon curd inside, and powdered sugar on top?
What is it he doesn't like about frosting? For some people it's the sweetness, sometimes the texture.
If it's sweetness, a curd or a very lightly sweetened whipped cream, or maybe a raspberry whipped cream would work, and a sponge is light enough to pair well with it.
Oh, I totally missed your post on deciding to do a coffee crumble cake, good choice :)
AThese are all such good ideas' I'm expanding my list of cakes and options for ppl who don't like frosting. So the frosting is a taste as well as a health issue, he doesn't like the sweetness or the texture. So I just went with something that was plain. He's one of those people who ate picky but they don't know that they are lol. They go halfway with the direction. So hopefully this works lol
You asked for a bundt cake recipe. I've made this for friends and family, and have shared the recipe. Everyone loves it.
The glaze is optional. I like to use a combination of kahlua and irish cream for the glaze.
AThank all you guys so much for your help! And for the bundt cake recipe! Makes my job so much easier!
