Ganache has such a high fat content that it doesn't take airbrush colors well. Can you cover it with fondant?

That is what I was thinking----The customer requested no fondant and I was thinking of a way to jazz up the cake...  I think I could get away with minimal fondant decorations that they maybe pull off....not sure how else to make the cake look nice....

You can colour ganache with normal gel colours (the chocolate has already seized so no issues re: water based colourings)

Cakemommy...I sprayed my ganache cake with PME gold and bronze edible lustre spray.

ShamsD, how did you  make the rose?  It is a beautiful cake!!!

Rosa,I used the probus UK1B tip ,very similar to the wilton 2D.

I started the swirl from the centre .It's the same technique when piping on a cupcake.

You can airbrush anything - it's all about pairing with the right product and equipment.

The higher the fat content of the surface being sprayed, the more problems you'll encounter from water-based colors.

Metallics and Pearls would work be the way to go - as we've already seen.

When I paint on MMF I use airbrush colors, but when I try to paint on white MC the food coloring beads.  Diluting it with lemon extract fixes the problem.  Maybe it's the same for ganache.
