AOk so I have a two tier cake that I'll be covering in Fondant tomorrow. I have also made a good number of gumpaste flowers to decorate with. They are light and only one layer thick and made using shape cutters and are various sizes.

I'll need to stick them on and I'm wondering two things. Is it best to put them on immediately after I Fondant the cakes so they'll stick on better and will an edible glue be enough to hold them in place and stop them sliding down the cake? Is there some better method or is that the way to do it?

Am just terrified they'll all fall off on me!

Thanks so :grin:much!

I'm no expert at all, but I've had luck with a dab of melted candy melts. It'll hold up pretty heavy stuff. (In case you don't want to make royal icing)

ARoyal icing is the best to use. It will dry hard attaching the flowers to the fondant. I've put fondant on a cake and the next day attached decorations and they stayed. Just use enough to hold the decorations without it over flowing around the sides when you lightly push it in place so you don't see it.

Never thought of the melted candy melt.  That would be easier than to always have royal icing on hand!
