ACan anyone tell me more about the silhouette machine? How does it work? Where to buy?

Is this the right one?

ALove mine. I found I difficult to get just the right perfect match using my own gumpaste do I use electronic cutter sheets from Icing Images.

This link is to an older model. The new one is the Silhoutte Cameo. I advise purchasing it from Linda McClure. She also sells the blades, instructional manual & CDs, & some cutter sheets. You can find her at http://www.*******************/catalog.html

Delicious Desserts, did you see our new products? We have a Sweet Accents machine, but if you use the Silhouette, you probably dont need it unless you want it for its embossing capabilities! WE also have new amazing Color Luster sheets!

AOh I saw it. I was trying to convince myself I needed it for embossing.

I LOVE the luster sheets. I didn't see gold or silver? Did I just miss it? It was a quick peek. We are moving & I promised not to purchase anything until after the move. Movers come Wednesday & I have a huge cake next week. Gotta find time to fix the printer & order the luster sheets!

After doing weeks of research, I finally broke down and bought a Silhouette from Icing Images today.  I'm computer stupid so I hope I can figure it out.  I do have one question, do you think this will cut modeling chocolate rolled thin?

You would have to have a special blade to cut the modeling chocolate, but I believe it can be done.  I would recommend you spending time with the machine and the book that comes with it first before diving further in to it! The book is very helpful to you and should help you master it rather quickly. Congratulations on your purchase!

If you have already bought your Silhouette you will need the accessory package, which includes the correct blade holder for cutting gum paste and other sugar products. The blade that comes with the Silhouette will cut icing sheets and paper, but it will not cut your sugar products.

This may be a dumb question, but if I buy the bundle, can I use it for cakes AND paper???

You will need a separate blade and a separate mat for edible and non edible.
