Cheetah prints on MMF???

Have a cake order for Saturday with a request for cheetah prints.I cover my cake with MMF.

How do I  keep black color mix  FROM turning navy/dark blue once applied to  MMF. I am referring to the outline of the cheetah prints. HELP!!!!!!1

I've painted on marshmallow and didn't have any color change. Here's an example:

I used americolor gel paste and just painted it onto fondant. I hope that helps! Happy caking!

I use Americolors too. Maybe I didn't add enough black plus I used lemon extract instead of Vodka.

I did a cheetah print cake this weekend, for the black outline around the spots I used Wilton black gel without any vodka or extract. I even made a jamaican flag cake the weekend prior and found that it was best to just use the black gel color without mixing it with anything.

Yeah, I would suggest just using straight food coloring rather than adding lemon extract. I've never mixed it with anything (except maybe water if I need to water it down) and I've never had a problem :)

Americolor and Duffs make the best black for painting...and I dont use lemon extract...always vodka

I apply using a paintbrush dipped in Americolor airbrush paint.
