I am wanting to make my son a 2 tiered cake. I bought a 12 inch pan, and I have a 9 inch. Will this work???

That would be fine. You will have room to place decorations.

It definately will.  You will have enough cake to serve about 50 people :)

Do you really need 88 servings?

A 9" for a top tier is huge... a 6" would be better.

THIS^^^^^

I would rather make 1 cake for $150, than 3 for $50 each.

The person who works for nothing will always have plenty to do!

My sarcasm is good-humored. People generally really like me, in person ;-)
