AHave you tried googling "wholesale cake decorating supplies" in Canada? Essentially all cake deco stores online sell cake dummies.

If you felt like it you could google "wholesale styrofoam cake dummies" or similar as well.

Don't know what the shipping is like to Canada, but Decopac.com has cake forms (though just rounds and squares and 3.5" high only) for pretty darn cheap.  I have purchased lots of sizes and shapes from XXXXXXXXX but it has been a few years.

try Golda's Kitchen (i'm not sure if posting URLs here is allowed, so I wont).  I've ordered dummies from there in the past and it's much cheaper than buying locally in Western Canada.

Goodness gracious.  Well it's www.**********.com that is the company.  Guess you'll have to find the url yourself.  I have also had them cut custom sizes and shapes for me.

xxxxx appears because the the member/site spanned CC.

Thanks for your cooperation.

I strongly urge the OP to do the google search.

Getting a retail or wholesale price in Canada will depend on having a business tax number and a business account. Most provincial taxes are harmonised which means you pay even if you are from OOP.

If I remember correctly, there is a bakery supply wholesale justabout under the OP's nose--but CC does not allow it to be posted.  So google is the only way there.

I've been making my own dummies for at least 15 years. I purchased a styrofoam cutter from the hardware store, and sheets of styro in different thicknesses and have at it.

Godot: Do you buy styrofoam sheets at the hardware store? I'm guessing it has been more cost effective than buying pre-fab styrofoam dummies, but can you confirm?

It is much more cost effective. I can also make a dummy when I need one - no need to wait for stuff to be shipped.

I do buy the sheets at the hardware store (big warehouse-type store) and they come in different thicknesses. I can adjust the wire so that it tilts to make 'carved' dummies.

I should try this. Shipping sometimes kills me when it comes to ordering them online. I will look at my hardware store and see what I find. Thanks for the tip!
