Hi guys, I found this picture online, I was just wondering if someone knows what's the snow on each layer made of, or how to do it...

could be chocolate

 

or fondant

 

it looks like it was chocolate poured twice

 

it's just so white it's probably not choco

 

but it def looks like it was poured once then poured a second time over that

 

maybe almond bark type (no cocoa butter) "chocolate'

 

nice nice cake

 

yeah my guess is melted non-cocoa butter white chocolate

It's royal icing, although I have since done another version of it and I used buttercream.

Oh and then I sprinkled it with those clear sugar sprinkles to make it sparkle.

it looked too creamy for royal!

 

but i thought it was also too white for choco too!

 

great job--really pretty cakes

 

it looks like especially fluffy meringue-y royal

 

beautiufl work!

How do you do it with buttercream? Do you just make it a little more liquid so it looks like that?
