Haha yes, that's exactly what it means, but there are limits! I mean, I can't make buttercream ruffles look *exactly* like Maggie Auston fondant ruffles. I showed a picture of buttercream ruffles and they are like, "that doesn't look like *this*" and we want *this* exact." I'm like, "That's fondant. If you want *that* we have to do fondant. If you want buttercream, they will look like *this*". That's when I got the comment. LOL
AMy mom had allready made up her mind about butter cream (that it's not good), so the first thing she sad whas "its not butter cream huh?" God damn it taste it before you make up your mind..

my son & daughter-in-law are out that way and he just had a birthday but he only likes buttercream
so you do work with buttercream?
I blame Rachel Zoe, who uses the word Beyond to mean something is awesome. As in beyond words. This buttercream is just beyond.

So no the cost was non negotiable. Grrr. The nerve.

5 or 6 hours is much too long for this cake! (As adorable as it is!) it should be at least a $100 cake, if it takes that long. I am slow and it would take me an hour and a half.
And you are absolutely correct that the price is non-negotiable...no matter what it is!

AWell including baking, making up the buttercream, cooling, filling, colouring fondant etc is not that much of a snails pace!

My sisters co worker saw pictures of some of my cakes and wanted me to do her daughters birthday cake. We worked out the details and 2 days before the party she starts freaking out. First of all, she avoids me and starts telling my sister that she doubts my ability to do exactly what she wants, and then she tries to change the flavors on me after I had already bought the ingredients.
My sister tells me she is a perfectionist so I told her fine, she can make the cake then. She finally calms down but continually asks my sister if I'm sure I know what I'm doing. I was so angry, but finished her cake and so glad I don't have to deal with her again.
Customer: "hi! I'd like to schedule an appointment for a tasting"
Me: "sure, how many people will you be serving at your event?"
Customer: "its a birthday cake so about 5 people" 
they seem to change their mind when they find out there is a fee for tastings 
Just a little something to add to the MOIST/WET debate......
a couple of weeks ago I was baking but really pushed for time so I had to pull 2 cakes out of the oven and just stick them on a cooling rack in the tins with a (clean!) cloth over the top and rush out. When I got back to turn them out they were completely cold, of course the tops were nice and dry, but the bottoms..... my dears they were positively CLAMMY. That's one pile of trimmings I won't be scarfing down.

In general, it's the little piece of poop that won't fall off of your cat's butt. Or your dog's,but I think that the cat issue is more common. I find it to be a very appropriate description for a lot of people and their dingleberry behavior.
