Hmmm...Anna, will have to think on that. We'll be giving away an Icing Dispenser on Facebook in the near future - how's that for a tip?! http://facebook.com/sugarveilicing

I would almost give my first born child for one of those! It is on my list! (My first born is a twin though, so you would have to take them both, lol)

If I had the dispenser, I would HAVE to get the needlepoint mold, so I could drag out all my old cross stitching pattern books and become obsessed again ;-)

Thanks, Anna. Here's another interesting thing you can do with the Woven Mat: Peel the SugarVeil woven piece, and make six rectangles by piping/flooding royal icing all round each rectangle border. When dry, pipe a line of SugarVeil to join each rectangle into a box form. The royal icing gives SugarVeil enough support to make a box structure:

P.S. Keep the twins; send your cross stich books

Nicci, the stitching is done with the Icing Dispenser, a hand-held, air-powered way to pipe really intricate lines. Here's what it looks like: http://www.sugarveil.com/icing_dispenser/index.htm

You would use the icing dispenser. It has different cartridges that you would fill with your colored sugarveil, put a tiny tip on it, and go to town! The dispenser is powered by a little air pump, so you don't get the hand fatigue you would get with royal icing and the sugar veil is smoother, so you don't have to run it through your pantyhose before you pipe with it!!! Cool, huh? It is on my short list!

UGH! I knew I shouldn't have answered the phone to take that payment! How embarrassing! I started my post before you sent yours, I swear! lol!

The twins are very well behaved, and they are out of school net week, so you could just take them for the summer ;-)

The box is so cool! Does Sugarveil work well with Isomalt? Some isomalt jewels would be pretty in there, so would a gum paste rose!

Yes, SugarVeil filigree is wonderful with isomalt jewel centers. Here's a with a gumdrop center used with SugarVeil, to give you the general impression:

Are you sure they aren't Cepacol lozenges? lol It is still a very pretty look ;-)

Sugarveil molds and the dispenser have been on my short list for about 4 years :-( I have raised my prices, and will be doing a bridal show on the second of June where I hope to attract a more spendy bride, and as soon as someone mentions "lace" and "credit card info" in the same sentence, I will go straight to order them! I have looked at every cake with sugarveil on the web, and the dresses, and such, lol, but so far I have only used it for webs. Big, FAT webs, since I don't have the dispenser, hahaha. Surprisingly, I have done several webs, with Monster High cakes, and my gothic wedding cakes. And guitar strings. icon_rolleyes.gif

I was so glad to find this thread as it helped me to fulfill an order I had for last weekend. They insisted on having a stucco effect cake with the only ornamentation being burlap flowers. I told them I would not do real burlap as it is not food safe. So, I made these Sugarveil burlap flowers instead. The customer loved it! Thanks again for being a lifesaver and enabling me to fill this cake order!

This video demonstrates the decorating principle:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKjM7Wm845w

With the Sugarveil grid, you wouldn't have to pipe all of those lines before doing the actual "stitching" of the pattern. And you can tint your royal icing to make colored patterns (such as for cross-stich or needlepoint.

There. Their. They're not the same.

I hope I die before "your" becomes the official contraction of "you are."

Wonderful job, Heartsnsync!

I'd love to show it off via SugarVeil Icing's Facebook page, with a link to your website, if you'd like. Would you be able to PM me a hi-res version of the photo and a website for the ensuing applause?

Thank you!
