Hi, With edible printing, you want a pritner that has the individual ink tanks, but you only want to use a pritner that uses the fewest possible cartridges. The fewest cartridges available on the market with individual ink tanks is 5 (two blacks, cyan, magneta, yellow) The printer you mentioned uses an extra cartridge which is overkill in the edible industry and that is the grey cartridge. There are plenty of other printers such as the Canon mg5320 that uses the 5, is a lot less expensive and produces excellent quality. With the MG8220, you are buying more printer than you need and you are also and will also continue to buy more ink then you need with no additional benefits for edible ink. I hope this is helpful to you!
