I've made all of my car and truck cakes using the Wilton 3-D car pan and just carving it to the particular car that I needed. It gives me a good shape to start with. Print a photo of the car you need to make and just start carving...you might be surprised at what you can do. icon_biggrin.gif

I usually use a thin 11x15, cut it into thirds and then stack them and then carve. If you can get a good side profile of the car, you can make a template of the shape. Good pics of the front and back are also helpful.

Word to the wise if you use wilton 3 d pan to make your cake ...follow the instruction sheet ! I used funfetti mix and i needed one and a half boxes of it. (it say 6 1/2 I think) Also know that it takes a long time to cook because it is so deep. Mine took over 1 hour ! Make sure you have a long cake tester (metal one or long dowel type one that goes to the bottom) Alo becareful on which icing you use also. I used a ready made tube icing for my tires and it slid down and looked like I had 4 flats ! Also a cute touch is add a license plate to the back with say a name or somethig cute in it.
good luck ! Post some pics !
