oh my goodness, my all time favorite Mike McCarey has his first DVD out! I know I cant believe it either.

I'm sooooo buying this. My DH did the car cake in my photos (his 2nd cake) and he wants to do another. This would be a good excuse to buy it right. It validates it for me at least.

I'll have to order it in another few weeks though since I'm tight on money right now.....darn school clothes, shoes and supplies.

This is probably legit. but I am skeptical of everything these days. Where is Mike McCarey located? The 425 area code is in Washington State. I would be very leary of calling a phone number and giving them my credit card # unless I was sure it was on the up and up!

Thanks SweetResults, when I clicked on the link for the website, it wouldn't open on my PC and it just made me wonder if it was legit. I guess I'll have to let my PC allow it so I can take a look for myself. I'd love to have a DVD on doing 3D car cakes. My husband has a 67 barracuda and what a surprise that would be to make him a barracuda cake. I have made the car for him in fondant, it would be really neat to make it in cake!

I bought the DVD at ICES convention in July. It's good--lots of tips, some recipes...and be sure to watch it all the way to the end.

I have it and love it. And he signed mine! Mike rocks!!!!!!!!!

Mike is my cake hero...I'm definitely getting this. I want to know more about the modeling chocolate, which seems to be his specialty. I have the email in my inbox to remind me to get it once I get a little more cake cash to spend! I'm kinda tight right now...just bought a laptop...

Plus I hate car cakes, done a few, hated every one of them. Looking forward to see how to do a real one!

TooMuchCake - Oh yep - sure did. speaking of "rocks" I love your ingenious idea about the gem cake.

I got mine last week, and when I called to order it I asked the gal taking the order if he wouldn't mind signing it - he did!!!

It is really great, and as I have not one but TWO car cakes for tomorrow, I am very grateful it came out when it did.

I highly recommend it. Mike (and his shop) are the best.

Thanks for the update! I love his cakes. They are so clean looking and perfect. I wish food network would give him a show. Duff is fine but I think Mike takes cakes to a whole other level.

Bellatheball, I totally agree. I watch Duff but only to see Geof and Mary Smith. I'd watch - nay, be transfixed by - a show starring Mike. I think it was Duff who once said that "Mike McCarey is from another planet." How true. I'm such a groupie, haha!
