I've seen silver Luster Dust, but never "Glitter Dust". It really does have a sparkle in the photo, too!
Where did you find Glitter Dust?
I borrowed it from a friend who entered cookies in the competition....I'll see where she purchased it from...it's similar to disco dust...but more glittery!

Oh wow! I was surprised to see this post on the front page after so many years! Wilma...I did not really use a template for proportion...just kinda carved until it "looked" right. I applied the fondant flap immediately after cutting it out to avoid elephant skin and cracking, etc.
Thanks so much!
I assumed that after you covered cake in brown fondant that's when you did the diamond impressions. And for the handle you did it after you already cut it in shape just before you'll attach it to the "bag".
With my questions you can tell i am VERY new in baking and decorating. But even with my EXTREMELY limited knowledge & skills i am a big risk taker -- LOL so i will attemp in making diaper bag for the 1st time BUT design/decor is simple.
I am guessing that your bag has 6layers of cake 10" long 6"wide & 6" depth --- if i'm right you used dowels to support layers of cake?

@cambo THANK YOU for your response. You're a genius!! Imagine doing everything "free-hand" and it turned so perfect & realistic too! Truly you deserved to win:)

Thanks, Wilma! I actually impressed the diamond pattern BEFORE I placed the fondant on...also, this was not cake, it was for a cake competition, so it's foam....but I would have done everything exactly the same regardless. Yes, the strap was cut into shape/length before applying to the bag.

Thank you Claire138...the baby bottle is actually a 3D (2-part) chocolate mold that I picked up at my neighborhood cake decorating store. I just glued both sides together with chocolate after unmolding!
