I don't have to be baking or decorating to want one of those 'kiddie containers'! After dealing with two flat tires, the kids missing school, therefor no baking time for Mommy icon_mad.gif (until now ... just in the oven at 11:00 pm), all I can see is a giant jar with my children buzzing happily around inside, and of course a lid with air holes. I love animals, but if I had a pet come anywhere near my kitchen right now, the poor thing would look like a slipper in short order! Though I would never have served the cake, I do admire the OP's patience with her little taste tester ... at this point in my day, I'm really not sure how I would have reacted towards the dog.
I'm tired, I'm grumpy, and I'll be up into 4:00 provided all goes well ...

I think most of you really need to lighten up a bit. Did she use poor judgement, yes. Would I have done this, no. We have all made mistakes or had lapse in judgement. I am sure that is not one of you taht can say they didnt pick something up off the floor and used it or forgot to wash your hands after something and continued working. These are all unsanitary thing. Maybe not as bad as a dog licking a cake, but come on. Lets not tear this women to shreds. She is human like the rest of us. Lets practice a little more tact when trying to express your opinion about the situation.

I cook out of my home,I clean my kitchen down every day with bleach.I have a dog but shes not allowed in kitchen or bedrooms she was trained to know her space...now i helped my friend about 10 yrs ago to do a grooms cake at her shop it was 6 layers tall beautiful choco, strawberrys now she delievered it set everthing up with the decorator it was a out side wedding,well woe and behold the neighbor let his dogs out when no one was looking the dogs ate a large hunk out of the back..the decorateor put flowers in back so it wouldnt be noticed.it was delivered and it wasnt her problem.but they told the bride she said they wouldnt serve from that area. but what can you do it wasnt her fault she was leaveing when they told her the decorater handled it....so any thing can happen she will have to learn from her mistake. she will be ok i too hope she doent quit cc because we are very nice family here and we do help each other every day.

I don't know where you all are getting the idea of someone being crucified over this? Alot of the responses state they hope she does stay with CC, and I have seen ALOT worse reactions posted to more menial topics!
People however, can and have the right to their own opinions, and they are free to express them.

My question is why sit it on the floor?

No counter space? If thats the reason couldnt the top of the stove do for just a couple minutes to put in a dowels?

Lack of experience even will tell not on the floor.

That's disgusting. And for future reference mixed breed dogs are NOT always hypo allergenic! I'm an on again off again groomer and I know this first hand, Ive had soo many people bring in their hypo designer breeds and the little brats would shed all over the place. And even the ones who didnt shed and have hair instead of  fur, have hair breakage. hair breaks and sheds also. That's why if you ask most vets they will tell you truthfully that's there's no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog!

I did see how old this was, from the get-go, but it was still amusing. CC sure hasn't changed much in the last 5 years. lol

I would rather make 1 cake for $150, than 3 for $50 each.

The person who works for nothing will always have plenty to do!

My sarcasm is good-humored. People generally really like me, in person ;-)
