Cake Photo's With Faces Clarification
Decorating By m0use Updated 20 May 2013 , 11:25am by Aggy Cotswolds
Going through some of the wedding photos, and noticed that some people had reported photos of cakes with faces.
One of them had to be removed, but the others were fine. This is why:
1) IF you're photo has faces of people that are standing around the cake and they are NOT blurred out, you're photo will be removed and you will be asked to re-upload the photo once you have made the corrections.
2) IF you're photo has faces of people that are ON the cake, for example the photo is an icing image. This is allowed, the photo will not be removed.
Any ?'s please ask!
Thanks,

Thanks m0use,
I happened to be going through the galleries this a.m. and found examples of photo's being blurred. C.C.er's prove once again that they are willing to work together to keep this site up and running.

Sorry to dig up such an old post, I am sure everyone but me knows the answer. I am reletively new here but I have not read the "why" to the photos in cake photos question. I am not trying to challenge any rules here and will abide by any forum rules, I am just the type of guy that likes to know the why behind the answer.
I am on several other forums, mostly truck and welding forums and faces in photos has never even been brought up as a no-no. What if is your own face?

The purpose of this website is to display cakes. There is no reason to post photos of people. I've noticed that, in general, if a photo has people in it then it is usually not a very good photo of the cake.
Secondly, we don't know who is in the photo, whether it is a photo of yourself or someone else or if you have permission to put that person's photo online. There would be too much work involved for the moderators if we were forced to ask who is in the photo and if you have permission to post it. This rule protects children as well since so many cakes are made for children and many parents do not like photos of their children posted online.
It is far easier to have a blanket rule of no people in the photos to protect the users, the website and people who may not want photos of themselves or their family posted online. Again, this website if for displaying cakes only, so that rule keeps it simple and keeps our galleries organized, clean and easy to browse and "all about the cake".
ooof just saw this - i uploaded a pic about 20 mins with one on lol - best get editing!
If no faces are allowed why was there a photo yesterday of a pink & black cake and a lady in a dress the cake was design after on the front page of "most saved cake today"?

because if someone breaks the rules you have to use the REPORT PHOTO button to alert the photo moderator. We cannot manually approve every photo that is uploaded.
