Im doing the bride & groom cake for a western wedding. Im fixed on the brides cake and no probelms. It's the groom cake Im pulling my hair out over. They want a cowpatty cake lol. I have tried and tried to figure out how would be the best way to do this. They said it didn't have to be large because the brides cake will serve all of the guest. I think I can figure out how to get the cake shaped but what in the world would I use for icing? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Scrappy

ROFLMAO!!!! sounds like -- no make that IS something my family would do -- especially Uncle Floyd!)
have fun!
(icing -- why chocolate "poo" of course!"
Welcome to Cake Central!! Do you want to use a buttercrem type icing or shape and cover with chocolate fondant?? You could make a chocolate frosting and add coconut and pecans to give it a bumpy texture...EWWWW....sorry...
Cindy
oh and don't forget:
> flies
> little white grubs (those little white buggies you find when you lift a rock)
> a worm or two
Use the chocolate fudge frosting in the can and stick something that might look like grass under it.
lololol I couldn't stop laughing reading this. I hadn't thought about molded fondant. It needs to be a greenish brown. What would happen if I colored the brown fondant with a little green? Also Im not sure about the coconut but fine crushed pecans mixed in for ruffness might be good lol. Believe it or not the grooms mother is looking for gummie flys to use. Or plastic ones. Whichever one she comes up with I'll use lol. I live and am around a lot of cowpattys but I try not to gaze at them lol. So im not sure just what they really look like. I guess I need to take a closer look.

...........maybe some toasted coconut mixed in the frosting for a little more texture...............
Use the chocolate fudge frosting in the can and stick something that might look like grass under it.
green colored coconut?????
my stomach hurts ( we need a barf emoticon, lol)
make sure you put grass around as a border!
Since it is early I won't describe some of the games we played in the cow pasture when we were kids...heehee
I'm thinking a 2 inch round pan any size with brown crusting bc with crushed chocolate chips for texture. I would just dump the BC on all over and then shape it into a patty shape and then let it crust and then use something to give it texture on the outside. ?? This is too funny.
Good luck!
I can honestly say that I don't think I would wanna eat that cake (no offense to the baker of course, lol).
lol Gina, Im with you. Im just going to make sure the bride cake will serve everyone lol.
I don't know what's scarrier: the fact that someone wants this cake made, or the fact that most of us have ideas on how to make a cake that looks like a cow patty, LMAO
Really, to get that "I just had cake yesterday" look, you could add some yellow-green-brown tinted piping gel to a couple areas of it, splash some on the board, and dab some on a wad of TP..... too realistic?
You know what?!?
You're not going to believe this, but:
A few years back, after making some fudge for my husband/kids, I let the toddler play with the "extras."
He started rolling it out between his hands like play-doh, and OMG----IT LOOKED E-X-A-C-T-L-Y like a big, brown T**D!!! (coloring, cracks and all!)
So, if you wanted to just make up some fudge and play around with it...well...?
True story: DH wanted me to make MORE so HE could shape it, and plant pieces on the driver's seats of his buddies' cruisers! That's how realistic it was--(and how wierd HE is!)
