Climbing Wall
Made this for my daughter's climbing gym birthday party. She loved it, and so did her friends! It is two 10" x 10" cut in half and stacked with a board between the bottom two layers and top two. I tried to carve it to make it look bumpy, but that was a fail, so I just iced over those parts. Buttercream with MMF accents.

First Communion 2013
First Communion cake for my son and his friends. Two 18 x 12" cut into pieces for cross using template from this site. The cake was huge and I needed to get a custom cut plywood board 22" x 22" for a base. Even that was almost too small! Foolproof Yellow Scratch cake with buttercream dream icing and marshmallow fondant accents.

First Communion Rosette Cross
Made this for my daughter's first communion. I'm giving all the details so I can remember how I did it when I have to make another one for my son's First Holy Communion next year! Four 13 x 9s. Cross is 4"x 4", 18" long, cross piece is 12". Torted and filled. Two batches of buttercream dream for the rosettes and an icing dam, one batch of strawberry buttercream to fill.

Magic Bunny Hat
Made this for my daughter's magic party. The hat rim is a cake drum hollowed out in the center for the bunny head and covered in black fondant. The body of the hat is buttercream with fondant accents. I had some cute stars on cake wire to add, but I couldn't get them to push through the cake board hat rim. The bunny's whiskers fell off in the morning, so I re-made them a little thicker. This cake was easy to transport in two pieces. It was my first time trying to cover anything in fondant - you fondant people must be magic because it was hard! I won't be trying that again anytime soon.

Scarecrow Cupcake Cake
Made this for my son's Fall Festival at school. Anything "Halloween" was banned, so I decided to do a scarecrow. Buttercream with fondant accents. This one was fun to do. If I made it again, I'd make the straw a little lighter in color and I would try to make the straw not so curly.

Jungle Baby Shower
Made this for my sister's baby shower. It is my attempt at copying Nanabug's fabulous design. Thanks to Nanabug for helping me by answering my many questions, and for providing such a cute cake to copy! This cake is strawberry with SMBC filling. The fondant is Macsmom's version and it tastes incredible. I had a little trouble because the fondant was a little sticky and my stripes kept stretching out of shape, but other than that, I would make that fondant again.
