It's October 14th, one of the sweetest holidays of the year! The staff at Cake Central would love to know how you plan to celebrate National Dessert Day- share your recipes or treat ideas here!
when is it, today? who is we?
i probably will have lime curd cheesecake cupcakes if it's today--and they are made with truvia for the sweetener--'cause i be fat & on my way to skinny ;)
National Dessert Day? Really? I thought that was every day and twice on holidays. But if its NDD today, I'm in with leftover hummingbird cake from yesterday's Thanksgiving (Canada) dinner since the pumpkin cheesecake and the pumpkin pie are both gone to the last crumb.

I wasn't going to bake today, but this post has changed my mind. Pumpkin pie sounds great. Apparently, cakeyouverymuch, you know how to celebrate this fine holiday!
AI made a delicious apple cake a few days ago, and it's gone now, so I guess I'll have to come up with something. I know I was going to make applesauce today, but that doesn't count as dessert. Maybe some seasonal cookies or something... Oh, decisions, decisions...

Turkey, ham, pork/veg curry, mashed potatoes, roasted mini potatoes and bacon, mac and cheese, honey/orange glazed carrots, beans with mushrooms and bacon, broccoli salad, homemade bread, turkey gravy, stuffing, and the aforementioned desserts. The pumpkin pie was bought but the cheesecake and the cake were mine. We were an even dozen at the table and requests are in for the same menu plus plain white rice and mashed sweet potatoes for Christmas when we'll probably seat closer to twenty because we try to include some of DH's trucker friends who can't get home for the holidays or, worse, don't have a home to go to for the holidays. I love cooking for a crowd!
