In doing cakes, I get to be a part of a person’s important milestones – wedding, baby shower, child’s first birthday, anniversary… and this is no exception. Laureana celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends. I wanted to make her cake fun but elegant and incorporated fondant paper rosettes because I love how festive they look. The different shades of purple were to match the hundreds of balloons that were part of the venue décor. And a cake wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of bling so I made a custom topper and painted it with 24k gold.
