I am up watching HSN and Wolfgang now has a 700 watt 6qt mixer that is commercially graded. I was thinking of saving for the Cuisinart 1000 watt 7 qt mixer, but now I am not sure. He is offering his mixer for $299.99 via 5 flex pays of $59.98/month (free shipping and handling). I actually have his first stand mixer that was 5 qt and I love it. My only complain with that one was that it did not have handles on the bowls, but it did come with 2 size bowls. I also have a kitchenaid 6 qt mixer that I have not had any problems with, but I have heard so many horror stories. I know i want another mixer just to make sure I always have a plan B. So tell me what you guys think? Oh, and I guess I should say the sell goes off at midnight.

epicpastries: sounds like a wonderful deal right? In fact I would be tempted to get it myself, but usually with HSN there is always a catch. And it is with that catch that is the money trap. You can always try it and just say no to all the extras that cost extra. You say, I called to get the Deal of _with 5 payments of_ and that is all I want. When you get it look for everything that was promised and try it out. Make sure you know what the warranty is on it and last, but not least make sure that you can return the item if not satisfied w/o any hassle. Get the return address and I am sure that they will tell you that if you want to return it for any reason that you pay the return postage. Well if the postage and handling honestly didn't cost you anything to begin with that is fine, but make sure that that was the case. You also get the invoice and check it out in case of any surprises. Just telling you. I have dealt with these people. You have to be firm and stand your ground. Best wishes.

Let us know if you decide to go with that deal and if it turns out as great as they claim. I know you don't have long if you are on eastern time.

asaye - how long have you had the KA600Pro? Have you had any issues with the gears stripping? I've had mine for about 2 years, and have had to replace the gears 4 times now!!! icon_sad.gif I don't even do a lot of buttercream or cookie dough, and use it a couple times a week. Just curious...I have two older 4 qt ones (like 20-25 yrs old!) that still work like new, never replaced a thing on them. I know they were part of the Hobart generation, not the Frigidaire generation, like my 600...

I gave up my K5 for a Cuisinart 7qt a few years ago, and I'm sorry I did. I agree, the Kitchen-Aids just plain mix better. I don't like the tapered bowl of the Cuisinart. It's really hard to scrape the bowl down during mixing without making a huge mess. (And unmixed batter is always down at the bottom.)

You can always put the wet ingredients in the bowl first and then add the dry ingredients. Try this trick next time, it might help with the unmixed batter at the bottom of the bowl. icon_smile.gif
