Hi, Every time I tint my Fondant in Hot Pink after a few hours it fades... is this right? is there something I can do so it will not fade?

I have learned from on here that lights (sunlight and lights) fade the colors.

The pinks and purples are the most photosensitive. It just is what it is. Unless you can decorate and serve in the dark......

I keep ChefMaster No Fade Pink and No Fade Purple on hand and use those whenever possible.

You can airbrush on more color, paint on more color, or apply dry dust color. I have dry dusted on pearl luster dust and noticed that the pink doesn't fade as quickly.

I was just noticing this yesterday as I was banding a cake in pink and doing the bows. PInk is the worst. Worse than purple I think.

Thanks for the tip. Didn't know there was such a thing as no fade pink and purple.

purple or pink, if you don,t keep it out of over head light or window light, any name brand will fade.

where can you buy the Chefmaster no fade colors?

Red is the culprit and since purple is "blue + red", that's why purple fades, too.

It's nothing new ...... it's a 40 year problem.
