Good Evening! This is the first topic I have created. I have pored over this site looking for a possible solution, I am sorry if it is already here and I haven't seen it.

I make a big gingerbread house and yard each year. This year I have decided to also attempt to make a snowglobe w/a smaller house or sleigh under it...all edible of course.

I want to make the snow globe 'glass' out of candy, the same way that I make the windows, but first am not sure if that is the best option. Ideas on that would be great!

Second, to set the candy 'glass', I am thinking of using to silicone bowls, one that fits into the other, so that they can be pulled apart once the 'glass' bowl hardens.

that sounds very do-able. Or you can line a half sports ball w/ nonstick foil. It sounds like an adorable idea! Isomalt would definitely be the way to go for a clear glass look.

I think the silicone bowls would work perfectly. Let us know how it turns out. Definitely use the isolmalt.
