I want to try the rolled buttecream recipe someone posted here on CC . The instructions say that it should be made with a heavy duty mixer which I don't have. Can it be made without one, just with a spoon and then by kneeding. I hope somebody can answer this because I don't want to start and just waste the ingredients. Thank you in advance!

I had some regular buttercream left over from icing a cake and just added corn syrup and lots of powdered sugar, turned that into RBC so it is possible to make it without a heavy duty mixer.

You could start everything off in your mixer then pour it out to a silpat or your counter covered in PS then knead in the powdered sugar to get to the consistency you need. It will be pretty messy until you get enough PS mixed in but I think its possible

I make mine by hand. Just pour a mound of PS out and have at it!

I also did not use a mixer. I used my hands. I love the texture, but I did get a little aftertaste. I am going to try a new batch this weekend, and hopefully it will work because I love the texture, and ease of working with this. Make a small batch, 3T Crisco, 3T corn syrup and pour into mound of powder sugar, adding more ps as needed. It makes a small batch, but you get to try it. Good luck
