Chocolate No Fail Sugar Cookie – NFSC

A twist on our favorite No Fail Sugar Cookie. The perfect blank canvas for your decorating.

Chocolate No Fail Sugar Cookie – NFSC

Ingredients

3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cups unsalted butter
1 cups sugar (white granulated)
3 tablespoons Hershey’s chocolate syrup
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract or desired flavoring

Instructions

Combine flour, cocoa, instant coffee, salt and baking powder.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, chocolate syrup and vanilla. Mix well.
Add a little of the dry ingredients at a time to butter mixture. Mix until flour is completely incorporated and the dough comes together.
Chill for 1 to 2 hours
Roll to desired thickness and cut into desired shapes.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 350 degrees F (176 C) for 8 to 10 minutes or until just beginning to turn brown around the edges.

Tastes okay if you're going to decorate it but doesn't taste that great if you're eating plain. the kids didn't like it at all it was not a fan in my family thanks for sharing though.

Thank You Craftybanana!! I will try this recipe this week for our community picnic. I love the addition of coffee to the recipe! I have added coffee to my chocolate cakes before but it never crossed my mind to add it to decorated chocolate cookie! Brilliant!!
