I started out over 30 years ago as a hobby cake baker, and am now producing custom designed cakes as a cottage food law baker. It is so rewarding to see people's faces when they first see the cake I've made for them. People ask me how I learned to do this, and all I can say is I got in there and learned by trial and error, read every book I could find, and watched tv and videos on the subject. The tv reality cake shows have been a big inspiration and made me begin to "think outside of the box" and explore new ways to decorate, and trying out new recipes that go beyond traditional. |
