All About Me	My name is Veena. My Passion is Cake Decorating. Cooking, baking and cake decorating have been my interest from a very early age. I was lucky to be born into a family of talented women. I learned to bake cakes from my mom as a child. In my family having a decorated cake by a family member was never a surprise because most of the women (aunts, cousins, god mother) persued cake decorating as a hobby not a profession. As a child, it always fascinated me, how a simple cake could be turned into a work of art. I left home at 24; to work for Singapore Airlines as a Flight Attendant where I lived for 10 years. My travel and life style did not give me much opportunities to cook, bake or decorate cakes. During my travels I collected many cake decorating books and would browse through them in my spare time, only hoping that some day I'd get an opportunity to make cakes again. I got the opportunity to make cakes when I had my own kids five years ago. When creating cakes for my kids, family and friends at special occasions, I realize the importance of cake in our lives. I realized my kids were going to remember every milestone in their lives through their cakes. Right from their birthdays to graduation, weddings and anniversaries. I made my first fondant decorated cake for my daughter's first birthday celebration in July 2010. Since then I have read every book in my collection and browsed every video and tutorial the internet had to offer. I have been so fascinated with the art of cake decorating that I would look for every little opportunity to make a cake. Thanks to my husband's support and encouragement despite being self-taught I decided that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life - Make unforgettabe cakes for memorable occasions. So far the experience has been fascinating, learning and honing my skills with every new cake, surprising my self with skills I did not know I had. My cake gallery attracted newbies and novices to ask for my help which led me to start my blog and free videos.
