All About Me	I moved to rural Missouri from a very small little farm in Arizona where, as a divorced mother, I raised four boys. A milk cow provided milk and homemade cheeses and steers, which I butchered for the freezer; sheep gave me meat, plus fleeces and yarn to spin; and I had the usual chickens and turkeys. A large garden and numerous fruit trees rounded out our diets and provided a small supplemental income. I've always loved doing things the old fashioned way and this lifestyle provided a good opportunity to practice the skills of our fore-bearers. I began baking as a child under my mother's watchful eye. Her gentle guidance helped me through the usual failures as I developed my skills. From making my own wedding cake to all my boys' birthday cakes, I have always enjoyed cake decorating. I am totally self-taught, but find learning experiences available everywhere. (It's funny how things so often can apply to cake decorating.) Art has always been something I've enjoyed, ever since childhood. I love to paint and carve and consider cake decorating another art form. Although I majored in entomology and animal husbandry in college, I find that cake decorating is truly my passion. I love to write and have written two books on self-sufficiency. I am also an avid reader. Aside from non-fiction DIY books, forensic, legal thrillers are my favorite genre. One of my difficulties is learning to be brief. If you have read this far, you can see for yourself! I love my life and look forward to each new day. You never grow too old to learn and I love learning.
