A Dr. Seuss cake for a little boy's first birthday. Characters/house/trees/balloon/kite are hand cut out of gumpaste and handpainted. Chocolate cake with Vanilla Buttercream. The Grinch and Horton are on the backside.... but I didn't get pics of it :-(

I made this cupcake cake for my Uncle's 50th birthday party. It was spice cake (firmed up by using it as the base in the WASC recipe), frosted with buttercream. To make the cake square and still get a flat surface, I lined up the cupcakes and piped in icing in the spaces between the cupcakes. I smoothed it using the viva method and then applied an edible image to the center of the main cake.

All covered in marshmallow fondant with damask pattern in silver shimmer. I hand placed each dragee and rhinestone as the border on the tiers. Took FOREVER! Haha... The bride & groom met in France and the groom speaks German as well so we wanted to incorporate their multi-language connection. Thanks for looking!

Made for a special Retiree who will be doing some traveling, and loves the Dr. Seuss book by this title! Cake is dark chocolate fudge with chocolate mousse filling, iced with chocolate buttercream (oh yeah.. she also loves chocolate :)
