My kids and I made this cake for our annual cake decorating contest at church. Golden butter cake covered in green fondant. The black outlines are modeling chocolate. The eggs are also modeling chocolate. We made the "fork" also but i haven't put it on yet. The contest is 2nite so wish us luck! P.S. We won 1st place in the church cake competition!

This was one of my first ever cakes, its not great. it was a thank you cake for my daughters teachers. a 7" vanilla cake with jam and BC filling. iced with BC. i wanted a rough texture, the flowers are fondant with silver balls in the centers (they are 3d and stick up a little but its not a good photo) and they have been painted with luster dust.

Homemade yellow cake I made for my parents. Didn't turn out quite as I imagined. Had a little trouble with the writing & the shade of purple icing I wanted. But at least it tasted great! :) This is my 2nd cake, and as you can see, I'm still learning--but at least I'm having fun while doing it!

This was a 16" square marble cake with Extra Special Buttercream Frosting. We have 2 Grandmas that do a wonderful job through the Grandparents Program and this was to honor and thank them. This design of course could be adapted for any event.

My favorite band of all time is the Grateful Dead, i have always searched for GD cakes on here to see what would come up. All of a sudden all these elaborate steal your face cakes were popping up, i couldnt get over the detail and perfect lines of the skull, then when i figured out they were done using a buttercream transfer, I had to try it!! Im so glad i did. I really enjoyed making this cake! I originally planned on doing some Grateful Dead bears along the side of the cake but I was up waaaay too late and seeing as this was only for my ex i said....IM DONE!

These are pretty random cookies, but I worked with a group and did research on mosquitoes, so I wanted to thank them with something mosquito related! Peggy Porschen's sugar cookies with RI. I looked at some mosquito images online to draw on the cookies.

This is a cake I made on hospital appreciation day for our partners in education, Henry County Medical Center. They provide rewards throughout the year for our students. I found the idea here on CC, but the original is MUCH better than mine! I had a lot of fun making it, however, and learned a lot in the process! It is a 10" two layer cake with buttercream frosting and decorations.
