The mom wanted a cake featuring all the things her son wants most ... money (the gold coins), a credit card, a car, license, and a winning lottery ticket. I googled all the images, printed them out on photo paper, then used the boy's initials and his age as his license plate number for his hot new car. The boy definitely wanted some bling. And he LOVED the cake.

Customer requested "diamond" shaped cake for the diamond anniversary. I tried to 'facet' the top tier to look more like a cut stone than a cake layer... effect got a little lost under all the swirls. Brushed with a combo of super pearl and silver luster dust.

Thought of the Top Hat and thought it'd be easy. Well, easy it was.... though still very time consuming. The rim is a 12" Chocolate cake the Top part of the Hat is Chocolate and Yellow cake checkerboard. First attempt. It looked great when they cut it. The band is white fondant with black spray (new- don't like it) and silver flakes. Could have done better with the decorations, though time was short. Thanks for looking.

I made a Buzz Spaceship for Michael last year when he turned 4. He requested the same cake again this year AND I was invited to the party! I scraped off his name and replaced it with fondant lettering ~ it looked much cleaner. Easy and fun cake to make.

My best friend and I decided to make a cake together for New Year's. So much fun!!! My HB had given me an airbrush kit for xmas so we tested that out and played around with gumpaste to make the stars. The cake is yellow cake with strawberry cream filling and buttercream icing.

I hope these do say "pig"! It's the Kanji symbol for "pig" anyway, but SO hard to copy in a language I don't speak/write!

If anyone here can read it....let me know if it's right?

Chocolate cake with buttercream icing. Unfortunately, because yesterday was soooo hot, the icing started to melt and sag.

I made this transfer with crusting cream cheese frosting. I used plastic wrap to cover the image. It worked great! Next time, I will try a more complicated image and see how it works out.

These were for a Chinese New Year (Year of the Pig)/Birthday party. Since it was for a birthday party as well I made them Cute instead of a Boar. The kids were much happier with that.

NFSC & royal icing.

This was for a sweet little lady turning 100. You can't see all of the detail, but it was a very pretty cake. It has a dark pink ribbon and dark pink silk flowers. The ribbon and cake was trimmed with white b/c icing bead borders. The 100 was done with floral wire and platback pearls glued together.

This is the cake that I had a lot of help in creating from CC members. Thanks! Each tier represents one portion of this lady's life: birth/childhood, teen/college years, adulthood. I wish I took more photos of the details because it was a lot of free-hand work!! But this gives you an idea. All BC except for the little flowers and bow.

This was made for my coworker's little girl. She's a lover of hockey, soccer and cats, her favorite color is green. I tried, within my own capabilities, to incorporate all these likes of hers into the cake. Everything is fondant, except for the letters and the bow - which are made with gumpaste. Thanks for looking.

I made this cake with the Wilton Standing Bear Pan. I had to trim it down a little, and I cut the ears off the top, and stuck them to the sides with toothpicks.

My son was having an animal party for his 2nd birthday. I used two 9 inch cakes on with buttercream in the middle. The outside is also buttercream with fondant circles. I put an inverted cupcake on the top and little whispy things with circles. I just used the little people animals I had...perfect for a 2 year old!!! I used the buttercream recipe that was included in the Faux fondant recipe! IT WORKED GREAT!!! I love the smoothness of it!!!

All done in fondant to match the birthday napkins and plates. I was running late and cheater on the 1 - I cut it out from one of the plates. We had just returned from a trip and I only had one day to get this done.

This is my version of Sharon's (aka SugarShack) cake. Thank you to Sharon for providing info and encouraging me to post the cake. It is not as perfect and professional as her cake but I hope she is honored anyway.
