I was more of a consultant on this cake than anything. It was a joint effort with my sister with her imagination. For her daughter's birthday, she wanted a pillow cake with a crown on it. We succeeded with the pillow but the crown we made of gumpaste didn't hold up so we laid it down instead of 3D. My niece was pleased with it though. One layer is lemon cake, one layer is strawberry cake and it has Twinkie filling with fondant decorations.

The mother of the birthday girl wanted a real Barbie used instead of the doll pick. Made for a taller cake....which in my opinion actually looks better than using the pick. The bodice was done with fondant, the skirt is all buttercream.

This was my very 1st attempt at 3D figures...actually it was my very 1st attempt even working with fondant or gumpaste...It was for my daughters 1st birthday cake, and its from the Nick Jr tv show "The Wonder Pets!" Theres Linny (Hamster), Tuck (turtle), and Ming Ming (Chick). I used 50/50 Wilton fondant and gumpaste, and Wilton gel colors. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

Strawberry cake covered in bc and mmf, my air compressor died when I tried to airbrush this cake so I had to just paint on the airbrush color with a paintbrush so it's a little streaky ....the wonderpets and the sail are just paper cut outs, I didn't have time to model the animals or anything but my Daughter didn't care she still loved it!

This was the cake I completed for my daughters 1st birthday party. It was my very first time using fondant, or gumpaste, making 3D figures & buttercream, stacking...well actually it was the very first time Ive ever attempted baking a cake period!! The theme was "The Wonder Pets!" from the Nick Jr tv show...and I should have taken this picture a few minutes quicker, cause if you look, my sail in the back started to tear...but oh well, I wanna thank all the people in the forum for helping me out...Thanks!

a big thanks to sherik for her instructions...unfortunately i didn't have the wonder mold pan, so i made do with a 6, 7, and half of a sports ball pan. ran out to dollar general and bought a cheap barbie to disassemble. misted with aztec gold for that "magical" feeling. the teachers at the school loved it and couldn't believe it was cake...yay!!!

thanks to turtlemom for all her help and kind words! i didn't have the wonder mold (i've since found it!) so i used my mixing bowls. i chose to do it a little differently then others who've done this, by making the larger cake in the back and the smaller one as "blues" head, cause i wanted it to look like she was begging. i used two "mixing bowl" cakes, an 8 inch, and a 6 inch, along with about 6 or 7 cupcakes to frankenstein the body form.

this was for my daughters 4th birthday, christmas eve, but we celebrated it on new years eve with my inlaws in georgia. i had to freeze the cake so it would make the 9 hour journey intact, and we decided to celebrate early, so the fondant didn't fully get time to come back to normal, and that's the reason blue is so shiny. overall, i was very pleased with my first attempt at a dog, and the look on my daughters face was priceless!

Mini wonder molds - it was so hard to get a good picture. I loved making these - and I am so pleased with how they turned out. I have boys, so it was nice to do something frilly. I spent an hour the other day styling their hair! Fondant over BC; RI details. By the 15th one I was running out of skirt ideas!

I did this for a bridal shower. It a 10" round with the wonder mold. This cake was fun and using the mold wasnt as hard as I thought it would be. Next time I will make the round cake a little more decorative to match the bride form on top!

Not the original Wonder Woman, but it was taken off a graphic my church was using for a Wonder Women's Retreat. All buttercream, that's what they love.

With everything on hand this cake took less than an hour. Please ignore the "finger marks" on the cake as children did touch it before I had a chance to photo it.

All covered in fondant. The Wonder Pets figures are gumpaste. They each have a little slice of cake in their hand, too. It was fun to make!

My first Wonder Mold Pan cake, used store bought doll. I had to make one 8' round layer to add to the bottom so the entire doll would fit. Frosted only in Wilton recipe buttercream (8 cups). Added Raspberry flavoring and it was excellant. For presentaion sake, the next Wonder mold I make, I will layer the inside to match the 8 inch round I added. The cake would have looked more appealing after it was cut if it had layers of frosting inside.

This cake was made from the wonder mold pan and the roses are made from royal icing. There are about 130 roses on the cake. It took some time to make the roses.

This was my first attempt at using the Wilton Wonder Mold and also my first time mixing pearl dust with petal dust (for the dress) and loved how it turned out! I ended up putting the doll part on top of a 10" round so that it would feed more people.
