8" round two-layer with buttercream icing. Penguins are made out of gumpaste. Tree is ice cream cone with green icing piped on with leaf tip. I sprinkled a little powdered sugar on the tree and the white part of the cake. Thanks to dabear and Arty for inspiration from their penguin cakes!

This was made w/bc including the penquins and I used the sports ball pan. I had 2 halfs so I made 2 igloos. The entrances were made w/mini cupcakes 2 stacked on top of one another and then frosted.

This cake was made for the "Teachers Pre-view Party" opening our annual Scholastic Bookfair. The theme this year was "Bookfair Blizzard" hence the polar bears and penguins reading books. I was inspired by many of the winter themed cakes found on this site.

This birthday girl wanted a winter themed cake, so I came up with a snowy castle cake for her. All decorations are made of fondant and were made by hand. To see more pics, go to: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=277627301

This is the "Winter" cake shown in the Wilton Wedding Cakes - A Romantic Portfolio book. A few changes were made at the request of the bride....fewer snowflakes and shorter stems, etc... She loved it!

The client wanted a cake that looked like a frozen ice skating pond, she added the plastic figurines herself, the "ice" is piping gel (with a little TOO much turquoise food coloring) and some snow white sanding sugar sprinkled on top to make it glisten

My 1st time ever making petit fours. It was a Trial and Error Process. But I had a few salvageable cakes in the process. This was for my cousin's Shower. Theme was of course Snowflakes.

This cake was for our daughter Elle who just turned 1 last week. The bears are gumpaste and they're placed on a carved "iceburg" (used 7" oval pans) and set atop a 10" round "Arctic Ocean"

This cake I recently made for my sister-in-law's winter themed wedding. It's covered in MMF, with an extra layer over the tops cut to look like snowdrifts. The pearl border is also MMF with luster dust, and the snowflakes are royal icing. She didn't see the finished cake until just before the reception, and she was very pleased!

I made this cake for my grandson's 8th birthday--I should have made the iceberg a little pointier--based on a picture I saw here but can't remember where.

16,12,9, and 6" cakes iced in buttercream with RI snowflakes and fondant bow. Bow painted with Pearl Luster dust. I also did a 12 by18 by 4" cake and another 6" for the couple....total servings 320. I was quite nervous as this was only my second wedding cake. The first one only served 30! TFL!

Customer requested cupcakes for daughter's last day of school prior to moving out of state. Fun, but time consuming. Black and pink sugar pearls, airbrushed cheeks, snowflake sprinkles for hat and clear sparkle flake things to make the ball of the hat look "fuzzy". Inspired by Christmas cupcakes by Cakery.

This cake is covered in fondant and decorated with fondant snowflakes with silver dragees. I made the bow out of a combination of blue gum paste and fondant, and then painted over it with silver pearl dust.

This is my FAVORITE cake I've done so far... :D The comment I got most often was, "It's too cute to eat!", but of course, it tasted too good... It was a chocolate cake with homemade mint flavored "fondant". I covered it all in one piece, then painted the black and orange, spray painted the gray, and made the rest of colored fondant. I'm so happy to be able to share this with other cake aficionados!

Thank you to Emmascakes here on CC for this idea. I make cakes for a Charity that grants dreams for children with life threatening illnesses and had a boy who wanted to go see snow as his dream. We presented this cake with all the information for his dream. Snow men were fun to make!

I made this for my parent's mortgage burning party. I didn't want to make a house cake so I thought an igloo would be cute. All fondant. TFL

Here was a cake for my MIL who had a Bunco group and one of the gals was having a birthday. It's an oreo cookie cake with oreo BC icing for the filling then plain BC for the outside. Diamond impression mat with the edible silver balls and a hand painted design to match the napkins she had. I think it turned out well and I matched the napkins OK. It was sort of fun 'painting' on a cake. I've only ever tried this once before and not this much. Enjoy!
