I'm so happy it snowed last night for this couple! They came up to Toronto from California for their wedding and asked for a wintery-themed Mad Hatter cake using their sage green/grey wedding colours. The toppers are groom cookies that I made in their likenesses with their wedding attire. Had fun with them, but we did all the arrangements by email and I'm so sad I didn't get a chance to meet them in person!

i had an open house this year to show off our house while it was decorated for christmas .( i have eight full size christmas trees.)i made five different cakes not to mention oodles of fudge, peanut butter balls, cookies, bars, and candies. the one with the chocolate dipped fruit is a better than sex cake. the one with the peppermint sticks is a red velvet cake. all of the cakes had either buttercream or cream cheese frosting. believe it or not almost everything was gone by the end of the night.

I made this cake for my friends brother. It was his birthday, and he just got back from a six month deployment. Decorating a cake for a guy is hard, so I did a winter theme, since it was before Christmas. One sign says, "Welcome home" and the other says, "Happy b-day. The cake is marble, with buttercream icing. The ice is royal icing drizzled around the top and bottom, then dusted with pearl luster. Hope you enjoy my cake.

I made this cake for an adult man's birthday. His birthday was Christmas Eve and his wife wanted a winter theme. I didn't have time to make it look real fancy, but I'm sure he'll enjoy it just the same. I made the igloo from one side of a ball pan and then used foundant to make the ice blocks and to make the penquins.

This was for a birthday that fell the week of Christmas. They only requested pink flowers and I had free reign to do the rest. So, I did pink and white poinsettia's with icicles as the top border. All done in buttercream. White cake with rasberry filling. Thanks! :)

Thanks for all the ideas from this site. This was for my work potluck. It was a hit people were fighting about who got to keep the penguins. Fondant penguins igloo tiles are fondant, strawberry cake with bc sprinkled with pixie dust.

My daughter wanted a Littlest Pet Shop Winter Theme so I made a half sheet cake of white cake with cookies and cream filling. I used buttercream frosting with fondant and gel accents. All the Littlest Pet Shop decorations are from the theme set. The snowman is my first attempt at a fondant snowman. I built the snowman on a straw and then painted right onto the fondant and then stuck the straw into the cake with it was dried. Thanks for looking!

The idea for these easy to make cupcakes came from an older Wilton yearbook, I just simipliefied the details of my snowman and aded chocolate arms instead of pretzels. I made these for my son's Chirstmas Party at school. I used BC icing in a tip 12 for the body then placed a large marshmallow on top and decorated the face with BC icing. For the arms I used melted chocolate.

I made this cake for my family's Christmas Eve dinner. The 2 snowmen were for my nephews, Nickolas and Nathaniel. I put their names on the hats to make sure thay ate them and not my BIL (he would, it's sad I know). The cake is covered in buttercream, and the snowmen were fondant. I used toothpicks for the arms. Thanks for looking!!

I got the inspiration for this cake from lilmansmum. I used butter cream for everything except the nose, coal and the scarf and hat band. I made the actual snowman rough looking, so it would look like the ones make in our yard...they are never smooth. Thank you lilmansmum.

This is the first time working with homemade fondant. I used Rhonda's Ultimate MMF, It was wonderful! Thanks Rhonda! I learned so much from doing this cake, my buttercream icing was too thin under nieith and as a result i had some sagging and lumps and bumps. But the Bride and groom were estatic so I geuss that is what matters is that they were happy!

White tree topper made of fondant, white trees on side. They had a gazebo set up in the hall for a tiny two tier cake, so we buffed it up by sticking juice glasses under the cake and stealing some decorations to disguise the base... worked wonders! By Lorraine at The Cake Pros.

A last minute cake made from a leftover cake layer, leftover frosting and leftover moulding candy, made for dinner on New Years Eve. As sometimes happens, it looked better in my head ;-). Still, tasted yummy.
