As you may or may not know this year our wedding cakes for the OK Sugar Art Show had to be inspired by Hollywood Glamour. So my cake was inspired by Irving Berlin's movie White Christmas. Everything on the cake is edible, even the poinsettias which are gumpaste. The snowflakes were made from a custom mold. I was fortunate enough to earn a bronze division. Thanks for looking!!!

The tall cake is a 4 tier champagne cake with strawberry mousse filling covered in buttercream with shimmer. Hand cut fondant snowflakes. The small cake is a gluten free cake with strawberry mousse filling to match the big cake. The groom suffers from Celiac and needed a Gluten free cake.

BC/rosette icing. Sugar crystals on 2 tiers, hand rolled fondant balls painted with a pearl dust shimmer. Almond cake with cream cheese filling, Carrot cake with cream cheese filling, Chocolate cake with a light chocolate bc filling, white cake with rasp filling. We used the melvira method to make this look so smooth, the wedding coordinatorand the florist thought it was fondant! WOO HOO!

BC icing, white cake rasp filling
I piped white chocolate into snowflakes and accented them with sugar crystals. Sugar crystals were around the edges to give the "ice" look on the tiers. It was a very easy cake to decorate!
(One day the photographer stopped me and asked if I was at this wedding, it was my cousins, I said yes and she said "that was the most beautiful cake i have ever photographed! I said thank you then she said "OH, you made the cake?!?) YAY!

Spackeled with buttercream and then dusted with disco dust( love the stuff!)on the back half, embossed with snowflakes on the front half, then dusted with sliver. Royal icing snowfakes dusted with both the disco and silver cascading down the front. Took the ideas from flowergirlMN and sugarshack to make this.

Sugar cookies with an icing sugar frosting.
This was my first time decorating with this kind of icing....and in the beginning I wasn't doing so well, but I got the hang of it near the end!

My take on the WBH winter wonderland cake. A 10" freckled mocha cake with chocolate hazlenut mousse filling and frangelico SMBC frosting, and an 8" orange cake with Grand Marnier simple syrup, orange curd and orange SMBC filling. Snowpeople, clouds and trees are chocolate transfers. The dove on top was the company's logo. TFL!

This is my first "real" wedding cake! I've made 2 others - but one was for Wilton Course 3, and the other was a replica of a wedding cake for a 50th anniversary. Lemon cake, 12/10/6". Covered in BC. Large snowflakes are fondant, small ones are RI. Pearls are fondant. It is such a relief to be finished this, even though I loved every second of making it! Thanks for looking!

I made this for a Thanksgiving potluck. I was hoping by making a snow cake that it would bring us snow quicker. Well, the day I put it all together, it actually snowed! And it's still snowing. The snowflakes and snowman are made out of Royal Icing. The frosting is lightly flavored lemon buttercream and Wilton Cornflower blue .

As requested, here is a closer view of the little penguins and their near decorating mishap. ;) Trees are candy clay with confectioner sugar snow. Penguins are royal icing. Strings of lights are extruded candy clay with alternating royal icing and piping gel lights.

I had some extra batter and icing after making my snowman sheet cake so I thought I'd see what I could do with cupcakes. They are WASC with almond buttercream.
