My bil called yesterday to ask me if it was too late for his friend to order a cake for the next day. I said no it's not too late! He just wanted a chocolate cake with a snowboarder on it. I made a FBCT, but I didn't have enough white icing after I made it, so I couldn't cover the entire top. But I think it looks good anyway.. I hope he likes it.

The little girl wanted a winter cake and she loves animals, so here it is. I was happpy with it until I did the writing (note to self "Do not write on cakes afetr 2hours of sleep and a 10 hour shift at work" by the way did I mention I work at Starbucks and drank plenty of espresso to make it through that shift??!! LOL) Thanks for looking and tolerating my whining.

Erin brought a picture of a snowflake themed cake from a Wilton spread in a magazine and asked if I could get close. She didn't want fondant though, because she didn't like the taste and thought it was too chewy, so it is all bc. I made the toppers out of mini snowflake Christmas ornaments and styrofoam balls cut in half.

I made this cake for my future son-in-law.
Yellow cake with buttercream icing, and MMF figures, and gel water.
By the way, there is a "snowman kit" over beside the snowman. The penguins are going to build more snowmen! ( see, the extra coal, and carrot nose?")

I didn't want to do the traditional cascade of flowers so I used the pillar globes for the snowman cake idea in the 2007 book. I did have to do at least one flower so I did the fondant roses - I was pretty excited about how they came out. Look a lot like Sterling roses.

Thanks for looking!

This is an "attempted" snowman globe style cake. The snowman is done freehand, and I obviously suffered a blonde moment in the design process as everything ended up opposite of what the picture looked like -yikes-
Anyways, I used the clear edible glitter for a look of falling snow. My snowflakes aren't the greatest, but then again I'm not perfect. I almost lost this cake -it *ALMOST* did a nose dive as I got out of our car...luckily the damage was minimal, and to the side (and after I got the picture!)

chocolate cake, chocolate filling, buttercream. A co worker is considering me to do her wedding cake and wanted a sample of what I could do. I started fbtc -ing the logo of work, but it was too thick on the top of the cake so I scraped it off and threw this together quickly as I was tired and had to work in the morning. Thanks for looking!

8", 6", 4" and cupcake hat. Hat fondant covered, accents are fondant. Iced in BC. Alas, I did not center-dowel him, and he "melted" in the car. Had my regular dowels in, just not the center. Took him home, and we ate him up! He was YUM!

This is a cake I made for my husband to take to work with him. I didn't get to do a Christmas cake due to stomach virus, so I did one with a winter theme for them. It's a chocolate cake with bc icing. The snowflakes are mmf. Thanks for looking!

Made this for my husband's office. The igloo was made from the ball shaped pan. I just used half of the ball and covered it in fondant. The penguins are fondant as well. All else is BC and marshmallows. Piping gel for the water.

Decorated in RI. These are some of the many designs of my snowmen that I make for Christmas and during the winter. They're alot of fun to decorate.

Cupcake cake with Mumble the penguin on a mountain with lots more penguins. Piped in buttercream then painted with pearl luster dust and cake sparkles. Hard to see but there are snowflakes too. Made for my 2nd grader's class party, hence the 102nd day rather than 100th day of school.

There were more snowflakes on this cake than there were on the ground! All dark chocolate cake - each tier was filled with alternating fillings of raspberry IMBC and mocha IMBC (2 rasp, 1 mocha since the mocha is a stronger flavor). Covered in ivory fondant and sprayed with antique silk luster dust (w/ my new air brush!). Snowflakes were made of gumpaste and royal icing. I made the topper from covered 18 guage floral wire, hooked on the ends and slipped smaller snowflakes on them.

This is my entry for the AZ Cake Show for 2007. It's 6", 10" and 14" rounds covered in buttercream. Royal icing snowflakes, icicles, bc bead borders all painted with pearl dust. Fondant polar bear on skiis & ski hill, igloo, penguins, snowman, skiis & poles, husky dogs, dog sled with hat, mittens and scarf. Blue swirl thing on the side of the top tier is suppose to represent the Northern Lights. Show theme is " On The Move" so I hoped this cake represents some things that move in winter.

THis was done for my First every customer!! She wanted the American girls Molly and Emily ice skating. And since her daughter's birthday is valentines day she wanted hearts tied in. This was totally inspired by several wonderful cakes here on cc. I was pretty happy with the cake, except for the size of the girls, but it was my first try at making dolls out of fondant.

This was for a small wedding of about 40 people. The bride and groom are the outdoors type and they love winter, so they wanted a winter theme with the deer representing them. The bottom left is a small tree stump that has their initials carved in it. The picture isn't the greatest but the snow and trees all sparkled. The little pond is a lot lighter than in the picture as well.

I made this cake for my brother's birthday in January 2007. The cake is butterpecan and the icing is vanilla/almond. It was my first time making any figurines at all. I was really happy with the way it turned out.

This is my version of the similar cake in the Whimsical Bake House. Snowman, trees and dots on sides of cake are chocolate/candy melts. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the snowman and trees are propped up a bit, for a "3D" effect. First time I tried this method. This is for my "Winter Fun Fest" aka holiday party, for work today.

When my mother's boyfriend told me he was proposing I had to make a cake. :) This cake was actually constructed in secret right under my mother's nose, so I'm prouder of that than anything else. Flavor was great, too, I found a recipe for a really boozey gingerbread spice cake with allspice cream cheese frosting. It was definitely a success for that Christmas Eve! I had so much fun making the sugar ornament balls-- a technique I copied from a holiday cake challenge on the food network.
