DD 2nd birthday, she got to the fron of the cake before the picture. Was unhappy with the royal icing I used on the borders but have learned a bunch since this cake! Green tier is MMF, purple tier is BC. also learned a bunch since then about both icing mediums! Every cake is a learning experience!

Pooh and piglet and harp are a frozen buttercream transfer.
I had fun doing shadows with the airbrush. The only problem was the airbrush blew away the strings so I had to re-pipe them. They are supposed to be broken though.(I don't know why but they were in the picture.)

Thanks to everyone for their help with this one. This is my version of Aine2;s cake, I don;t think I will try anything this ambitious again for a while. I really found this one tough! Lots of cracks in my fondant on the edges which I covered most up with the clouds. It was fun though and the kids all loved it. Thanks Aine2, you are an inspiration!

This is a pooh cake i did for my sons 1st birthday. Its yellow cake on top, butter pecan on the bottom with chocolate filling and whipped cream buttercream frosting. all figures are chocolate transfers with the exception of a couple of royal icing roses (yellow & blue). I loved the way it came out, exactly as i pictured. Very fun cake to make. Oh and i love love love the grass tip. I took some ideas from other CC members, thank you all for the inspiration especially Merissa.

hello, this is my first post on this site and i just wanted to know what people thought of my daughters birthday cake? ive been making cakes for a few years now but this is the first time ive made one with a purpose- i usually just make them out of boredom. it was suggested by some people that i start doing a small scale celebration cake business but im not sure im good enough-so i would appreciate any advice from all you experts, and please be honest-i dont get offended easily! :)

I borrowed inspiration from Kiddiekakes (whose looks much better, but I tried. Thanks) I tried to freehand Pooh and Piglet. Customer's instructions were they just wanted Pooh and friends drawn on.

Sugar paste modelled Winnie the pooh & 'hunny' pot with bumble bee. Tip: Autumn Leaf colour paste by Sugarflair is a fantasic colour that is an exact match to Winnie The Pooh.

Made for a little boy's 1st birthday which the theme was Winnie the Pooh. The tree is an oreo tree with a half mini ball cake for the top. Everything was bc frosting except for the signs, which were fondant, and pooh & tiger.

I made this cake for my husband's grandfather's birthday. All of the great-grandchildren go over to his house for the birthday and to show off their halloween costumes. This is a FBCT of Winnie the Pooh dressed as Tiger and Tiger dressed as Winnie the Pooh. I thought it was fitting for the occassion. I put the transfer on the cake, let it thaw out, iced the background color to the transfer, let it crust, and then smoothed out the transfer with the background icing. I like the result much better.

A smaller version of a cake I had previously done. I sort of feel like it looks a little overdone this time. I think I should have left a few things off. Oh well! But I will say I had an easy time with the fondant this time (yea!) and I used pearl dust on the fondant and it looks really pretty, but you cant really see it in the photo. The images are chocolate transfers.

I just loved this cake! It was a major hit at the shower! The guest of honor was excited to be able to keep the figurines to set on a shelf in the babies nursery!
